Hockey East Announces 2008-09 All-Academic Team

Twenty-one student-athletes - 15 females and six males - have earned 2008-09 Hockey East All-Academic Team honors, according to a league announcement.To be eligible, each student-athlete achieved a grade-point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during the 2008-09 season.
Graduates Meghan Fardelmann and Stephanie Olchowski highlighted the recipients, having achieved conference academic honors for the fourth time in four seasons, while goaltender Amanda Rothschild also earned great distinction for boasting the top GPA at her position for the second straight season.
Brie Baskin, Fardelmann, Colleen Harris, Kiera Kingston, Katelyn Kurth, Olchowski, Kristin Regan, Rothschild, Molly Schaus, Megan Shea, Kelli Stack, Maggie Taverna, Allie Thunstrom, Shannon Webster and Becky Zavisza earned academic honors on the women's side. Schaus, Taverna and Zavisza earned the honor for the third time while Harris, Rothschild, Stack and Webster are each two-time recipients.
Anthony Aiello, Brock Bradford, Brian Gibbons, Alex Kremer, Matt Price and Ben Smith each academic team honors on the men's side. Smith earned the honor for the third time while Bradford, Kremer and Price are each two-time recipients.
