Men's Track & Field Opens at Husky Spring Invitational

DEDHAM, Mass. - The Boston College men's track and field team opened its spring season on Saturday at the Husky Spring Invitational at Solomon Track in Dedham. Freshman Matt Adetula picked up a win in the long jump while the 4x400m relay team also won.
Adetula won the long jump with a mark of 6.53m and also took third in the triple jump by leaping 12.79m. The 4x400m relay team took first with a time of 3:27.75.
Junior Andrew Mercurio finished second in the 1500m at 4:10.89 and was less than three seconds behind the leader. Classmate Brendan Gaffney took third in the 200m dash with a time of 23.00 which was just .47 seconds behind the winner.
Sophomore Jon Bogosian finished third in the high jump at 1.83m and senior Benjamin Kocarnik took fifth in the pole vault by clearing 4.26m.
The men's team will compete in the Reebok Raleigh Relays next weekend which is hosted by NC State.
