BOSTON (AP)--Stefanie Murphy led BC with 16 points.
BC scoring leader Mickel Picco, who entered averaging 17.4 per game, was held to seven points on 3-for-15 shooting, including 1-for-10 on 3-pointers.
The Eagles had cut Florida State's eight-point lead to 48-47 before the Seminoles took control with a 9-1 run that was capped by Freshour's 3-pointer with three minutes to play.
Florida State scored 11 straight points midway into the second half, turning a three-point deficit into a 46-38 edge on Alysha Harvin's fastbreak layup with 9:30 to play. Christian Hunnicutt hit a 3-pointer in the run.
Eagles rebounding leader Carolyn Swords was cut over her right eye and went to the locker room with 8:17 left. She didn't return, finishing with six points and 11 rebounds.
BC responded by scoring seven consecutive points, cutting its deficit to 48-47 on Picco's two free throws with 6:52 to play.
