The Boston College men's ski team visited Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH for the MIT Carnival on Saturday. Sixteen inches of snow from the week before made the conditions difficult for the giant slalom. The team was led by a season best ninth place finish from sophomore Christopher Burgart and a 13th place finish from junior Hugh Kirkpatrick .
Although both sophomore Dylan Roberts in 27th and freshman Dave Loftus in 28th both placed in the Top 30, the team was short on a fifth finisher and dropped to fifth place on the day.
On Sunday, the Eagles competed at the UMass Slalom at Pat's Peak. A very strong first run from junior John Ramer earned him a sixth place finish. It helped the Eagles get back on track. Burgart rounded out a solid weekend with two consistent runs to place 18th. Kirkpatrick in 21st, Loftus tied for 23rd, and senior captain Andrew Simmons in 28th rounded out the Top 30. The Eagles left the weekend in fourth place, trailing UMass by 13 points and leading Babson by by three points.
