Field Hockey Earns NFHCA Academic Team Award

Chestnut Hill, MA - The Boston College field hockey team has earned the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Team Award according to a press release from the organization released this afternoon.
To be eligible for the award a team must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Eagles are one of 65 teams to earn the recognition and only one of three teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference to make the cut.
Duke and the University of Maryland were the other two members of the ACC to receive the honor.
In addition to team honors from the NFHCA, seven members of the 2008 squad were recognized for the individual academic achievements by the ACC, earning ACC All-Academic Honors.
