BOSTON - Junior Joe Whitney tallied one goal and one assist as four different players scored even strength goals while junior goaltender John Muse made 30 saves to lead 14th-ranked Boston College to a 4-1 Hockey East victory over Boston University before 6,150 fans in Agganis Arena.
After the host Terriers scored the game's first goal, BC's Carl Sneep netted the equalizer with just 2:08 left in the second period before the visiting Eagles scored three times in the final frame to earn the victory, its second league win in as many nights.
BC defeated ninth-ranked Massachusetts, 3-1, on Friday night and has won three straight while is unbeaten in its last five (4-0-1).
Sophomore defenseman Edwin Shea notched the game's decisive score - and his first collegiate goal - just 38 seconds into the third period and just moments after sophomore wing Cam Atkinson rung a wrist shot off the right post.
Whitney, who assisted on Sneep's tying goal, doubled the BC lead exactly five minutes later (at 5:38) for his fourth goal of the season.
Junior Brian Gibbons concluded the game's scoring at 12:37, streaking down the left side and beatting BU sophomore goalie Kiernan Millan (23 saves) on a partial breakaway.
Sophomore center Jimmy Hayes tallied two assists for the victors, while freshman Steven Whitney tallied a game-high +3 rating.
Muse made eight saves in the opening period and stopped all 22 BU shots in the second and third periods combined to earn his fifth win of the season and 48th of his career.
BU finished with a 31-27 advantage in shots.
Both teams did not allow a power-play goal. BC finished 0-for-6 with a man advantage while BU went 0-for-5.
Next, Boston College travels to Harvard in non-conference action on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. BC will also play at Providence Sat., Dec. 12 before it breaks for exams.

Game Notes: Atkinson was not the only BC player to hit a post in the game. Senior alternate captain Matt Lombardi (five shots) hit the left post in a shorthanded scoring opportunity at the seven-minute mark of the first period ...BC's senior class improves to 7-5-2 in 14 meetings with Boston University over the last three-plus seasons ... Sneep extended his scoring streak to five games (3-3--6) while Gibbons extending his scoring streak to four games (2-3--5) ... The Eagles improved to 5-2-1 inside Agganis Arena.
