Jillian Mastroianni Named To ACC All-Tournament Team

Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College sophomore Jillian Mastroianni was named to the 2009 ACC All-Tournament team as announced by the conference on Sunday. Boston College advanced to the semifinal round, before bowing out on Friday in a 1-0 double overtime loss to No. 3 seed and eventual champion, North Carolina.
Mastroianni had an outstanding tournament as she had 16 saves in two games. In the quarterfinal game victory over Virginia, Mastorianni made three saves in the shootout to advance BC to the semifinal round. On Friday, the native of Durham, CT made a career-high 11 saves in a 1-0 loss to North Carolina.
This season Mastroianni has started every games and has set a new career-high in shutouts with 11 this season. She now has 21 in two seasons. Mastroianni also has a 0.49 goals-against-average.
Mastroianni is the second Boston College player to earn a spot on the ACC All-Tournament team. Last season junior Brooke Knowlton made the team after scoring the game-winning goal in a 1-0 semifinal win over Duke.
