Chelsey Feole Named To All-ACC Team

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team has been honored by the league office as the ALL-ACC Field Hockey Team was announced today. Senior Forward Chelsey Feole was the lone Eagle chosen for the conference honor.
The Windham, N.H native led the Eagles to 13 wins this season which is tied for fourth-most in program history. Feole also led Boston College in goals with 24, shots with 102, game-winning goals with three, and points with 59.
Feole is currently second all-time in Boston College history with 54 career goals and 129 career points. Bob Dirks is the current BC record holder in both categories with 62 career goals and 150 career points.
Her 24 goals this season ties the Boston College record for most goals scored in a single season. She also ranks second in the ACC, and fifth in the NCAA, with those 24 goals.
Feole's 59 points accumulated this year set a new BC record for most points scored in single a season. The previous record was 54 points by Sabrina Lazzari in 2004. Her 59 points ranks her second in the ACC and fifth in the NCAA as well.
Maryland swept the major 2009 Field Hockey ACC awards with Katie O'Donnell taking the Offensive Player of the Year, Emma Thomas was named the Defensive Player of the Year and Missy Meharg took home the ACC Coach of the Year.
Overall, the 18-member All-ACC team includes five selections from North Carolina which is the most by any league team. Maryland follows with four selections, while Virginia and Wake Forest each have three selections. Duke had two picks to round out the list.
Feole will be looking to lead Boston College to its first ever ACC Tournament win as it will take on Wake Forest in the first-round of the ACC Championship in Charlottesville, Va. on Thursday, November 5 at 1 p.m.
