Women's Cross Country Wins ECAC Cross Country Championships

The Boston College women's cross country team, led by junior Caroline King, turned in a first place finish with 54 points at the 2009 ECAC Cross Country Championships. The Championships were held in the Bronx, NY at Van Cortlandt Park. The meet featured 12 different collegiate teams. The Eagles had four runners in the top 15 and seven runners place in the top 25.
The Eagles won the meet with 54 points. William and Mary finished with 60 points, which was good enough for second place. James Madison and Stony Brook tied for third place with 116 points each. West Virginia rounded out the top five with 128 points.
King gave the Eagles a good start as she crossed the line in fourth place with a time of 17:26.4. Senior Lauren Johnston came in next for the Eagles finishing right on King's heels in sixth place with a time of 17:30.9.
A pair of seniors crossed the line next for Boston College as Brielle Chabot came in 13th place with a time of 17:48.2, and Kelly Gross clocked in at 17:49.8 which put her in 14th place
Freshman Bridget Dahlberg had a solid day as well for the Eagles as she finished in 17th place with a time of 17:54.8.
Boston College will be back in action on November 23 at the NCAA Cross Country Championships which will be held in Terre Haute, Ind.
