ORONO, Maine - Four players scored one goal and freshman Parker Milner made 22 saves to lead No. 17 Boston College to a 4-3 Hockey East victory over Maine before 4,488 fans at Alfond Arena.
Milner recorded eight saves in the first period, seven in the second and eight in the final frame to earn his second career win.
Freshman Pat Mullane and sophomore Cam Atkinson each tallied one goal and one assist for the victors, who held Maine scoreless on its power play for the first time this season.
Boston College (5-3-1, 4-3-1 Hockey East) led 1-0 after one period and 2-0 after two periods, before the teams combined for five goals - three for Maine and two for Boston College - in the final frame.
Senior captain Matt Price notched the decisive goal at 9:05.
Maine (4-7-0, 3-4-0 HE) scored 18 seconds into the third frame on Gustav Nyquist's sixth goal of the season, then it tied the score at 2-2 at 2:32 on Joey Diamond's first of two third-period scores.
Atkinson gave the Eagles the lead right back eight seconds later - at 2:40 - before Price scored the eventual game-winning goal midway through the period.
Diamond scored his second goal of the game (and season) at 12:40 for the 4-3 final.
The Eagles outshot Maine, 35-26, including a 28-15 combined edge through the first periods.
Maine finished 0-for-6 in power-play situations. BC went 0-for-3.
Boston College and Maine will conclude the two-game weekend series on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
Game Notes: Mullane tallied multiple points for the first time in his career and his first-period goal also marked a collegiate first ... freshman defenseman Patrick Wey tallied his first collegiate point - an assist on Atkinson's third period score ... Price, who has scored 14 career goals, has five goals in nine games against the Black Bears ... senior wing Ben Smith's seven-game goal-scoring streak was snapped ... BC killed a pair of two-man Maine power plays in the first period.
