Brian Like Named Boston College Fencer of the Week

Sophomore Brian Like was named Fencer of the Week by the BC fencing team for his performance at the New England Fall Invitational at Smith College on November 7th. Brian exceeded all expectations by placing third in the men's epee event.
Brian came out of the seeding round ranked 22nd out of 84 fencers and knocked out the number 11 and number 6 seeds on his way to a bronze-medal finish.
Coach Fadner described Brian as "very disciplined and patient on the strip. Most of his opponents outreach him, so he has to be very careful about setting up the distance before he attacks."
Like switched to epee from foil midway through his freshman season and continues to improve and challenge fencers with many more years of experience in the weapon.
