CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College volleyball team dropped a tough decision to Clemson on Friday night, falling 3-0 to the Tigers.
BC dropped to 11-6 this season while Clemson moved to 12-5.
Boston College held tough with Clemson during the first two sets, relying on 13 and 15 kills, respectively to power the team through. However, the Tigers were too strong and consistent in their play and despite the Eagles'.175 and .130 hitting percentages, Clemson won the first two sets 25-21, 25-21.
The Eagles attempted to find their way back into the match in the third set and keep the pressure and intensity up against their opponent. Even though they put forth 14 kills and a .133 hitting percentage, the Tigers proved to be too much for the Eagles, and Clemson won the final frame, 25-19.
Boston College was led on offense by sophomore Mollie Kolosky's 10 kills and Jordan Meredith, Melanie Cimino and Taylor Williams who each provided eight kills for the team.
Sophomore Brennan Clark's 14 digs were tops for the team while Meredith added 13 and junior Kristen Baader had 12.
The Eagles will travel to Georgia Tech tomorrow to take on the Yellow Jackets on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
