No. 7 Women's Soccer Ready For Duke

The No. 7 Boston College women's soccer team is currently 13-2-1 overall and holds the second place position in the ACC with a conference record of 5-2-1. Boston College has two regular season games remaining on the schedule and the first will be on Thursday, October 29 when the Eagles host the Duke Blue Devils at the Newton Soccer Field at 7 p.m. The final game of the season will be on Sunday, November 1 vs. Wake Forest at 1 p.m.
Boston College is coming off a 5-0 victory over Clemson on Sunday, October 25 in South Carolina. Freshman Victoria DiMartino had two goals and one assist while sophomore Julia Bouchelle and junior Hannah Cerrone each notched a goal and assist in the win.
BC vs. Duke
It will be the sixth match between the Eagles and Blue Devils since BC joined the ACC in 2005. Duke leads the head-to-head series against BC, 2-1-2. Last season the two teams played twice. During the regular season the two teams played to a 0-0 double-overtime match. In the ACC Tournament, BC defeated Duke, 1-0, on a goal by Brooke Knowlton in the 14th minute of the match.

BC freshman Victoria DiMartino is currently ranked 18th in the nation in points per game with a 1.88 average. DiMartino has 13 goals and four assists in 16 games. The forward from Massapequa, NY is also tied for 13th in the nation in goals per game with a .813 goals-per-game average.
Junior Hannah Cerrone is also in the national rankings. She is currently tied in 24th for assists-per-game with a 0.50 average. Cerrone has notched a career-high eight assists this season. Sophomore Jillian Mastroianni is ninth in the nation in goals-against-average (.500).
The team is ranked sixth in the country in shutout percentage (.688). The Eagles are also ranked seventh in goals-against-average (.492). The Eagles offense is ranked eighth in the nation in scoring offense (16 games, 47 goals, 2.94 per game). The only other team from the ACC with a higher scoring offense is Florida State with a 3.25 scoring average.
Corner Kicks
Victoria DiMartino's two goal game against Clemson was the third time this season in which she notched multiple goals in a game. She leads the Eagles in scoring with 13 goals and four assists for 30 points ... Junior Hannah Cerrone has also reached a personal high. The defender has scored two goals and a team-leading eight assists for 12 points this season ... BC opened the season with nine consecutive victories. The team is currently on a five-game unbeaten streak. The Eagles have defeated NC State, Virginia, tied Maryland, best Virginia Tech and most recently Clemson ... Remember the Eagles final regular season home game will be on Sunday, Nov. 1 against Wake Forest (1 p.m.). Prior to the match, the program will honor the four seniors - Gina DiMartino, Melissa Gimpel, Laura Harvey and Kelly Henderson.
