Mastroianni Earns Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week

Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College freshman Jillian Mastroianni was named ACC Co-Player of the Week along with Virginia's Meghan Lenczyk, as announced by the conference today.
Mastrioanni also earned a spot on the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week after she helped Boston College remain unbeaten in the first two ACC games of the season.
A native of Durham, Connecticut, Mastroianni tied her career-high with eight saves in a 0-0 overtime match against No. 10 Duke on Thursday, September 25. The rookie goalkeeper followed up with a 1-0 shutout against No. 14 Wake Forest on Sunday. The Eagles are currently 7-1-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the ACC.
In other women's soccer news, the Eagles are now No. 12 in the Soccer America poll and moved to No. 13 in the Soccer Buzz poll. In today's NSCAA poll, Boston College moved up one spot to 14.
The BC women's next home game will be on Thursday, October 2 at 7 p.m. at the Newton Soccer Field against Miami. On Sunday, October 5, the Eagles will host No. 11 Florida State at 1 p.m. The women's program is celebrating a "Power in Pink" event, in support of breast cancer research. There will be a silent auction for a package donated by Under Armor. Please be sure to wear pink in support of BC and breast cancer research.
