Chestnut Hill, MA -
The No. 12 ranked Boston College field hockey team (6-1-0, 0-1 ACC) will host their first Atlantic Coast Conference game of the year on Friday as they take on the No. 8 Virginia Cavaliers at 4 p.m. at the Newton Campus Sports Complex.
The game will be a rematch of the 2007 ACC quarterfinals in which the Cavaliers defeated the Eagles 3-2 in overtime. BC beat Virginia in the regular season 2-1.
The Eagles are back home after a weekend road trip to Maryland where they suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of #3 University of Maryland Terrapins but rebounded with an overtime victory over Towson University.
In their last outing at the Newton Complex, BC defeated Commonwealth Ave. neighbor and rival Boston University 4-2. Senior forward Bob Dirks had a hat trick in the game.
