Kasey Hill Placed Seventh in the Heptathlon at NCAA's

Chestnut Hill, MA - Kasey Hill placed seventh in the heptathlon at the 2008 outdoor NCAA Track and Field Competition in Des Moines, Iowa over the weekend. Hill earned 5,666 points in the event which set a personal best and Boston College record. Hill's teammate Tiana Riel placed 17 in the event with 5,333 points.
Hill had recently set her personal best and the BC record (5,558 points) in the heptathlon at the ECAC Championships on the weekend of May 16-18. She improved the event record at BC by 108 points (5,666 points). Hill's seventh place finish also earned her an All-American honor, which is her second since arriving at the Heights. Her first came during 2007 indoor season.
In the individual events, Hill earned a second place in the shot put (43-2.5), which is a new personal best within the heptathlon. She also placed third in the 800 meter (2:17.18), eighth in the high jump (5-6.5) and two 10th place finishes - 200 meters (25.06) and javelin (129-0). Hill's 129-0 toss in the javelin is now a new personal best and school record.
Hill will head to Eugene, Oregon next weekend to compete in the heptathlon at the Olympic Trials. She is currently ranked 13th nationally in the event.
Riel's highest finish in the seven events was two 12th place finishes in the javelin (120-04) and the high jump (5-5.25). She also set a personal best in the javelin (120-4).
