Men's Track Wraps Up Regular Season Action

Providence, R.I. - The Boston College men's outdoor track team sent five of its athletes to compete at Brown's Springtime Invitational, held on Sunday, April 27 at Brown Stadium, completing regular season action at the non-team scoring meet.
Two runners compete in the 400m, sophomore Brendan Gaffney and junior Greg Hassel. Gaffney placed fifth with a time of 51.01 and Hassel took 16th in 52.57. Freshman James Womboldt competed in the long jump, marking a jump of 17'08.00". Freshman Matt Kosmas placed 16th in both the discus throw and the hammer throw, registering throws of 113'09.00" and 130'05.00" respectively. Fellow freshman Justin Vereen also competed in the hammer throw, marking a 114'05.00" performance.
The men's team will take a week off to prepare for the New England Championships, taking place May 9-10. The first day of competition begins at 11 a.m. in Durham, N.H.
