Men's Track Registers Strong Performances At ACC Championships

Atlanta, Ga.- The Boston College men's track team totaled 17 season-best marks at the 2008 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, placing 12th out of the 12 conference teams, Saturday, April 12.
Freshman Mark Domaracki led the way with a team-high and personal best time of 49.09 in the 400. Sophomore Brendan Gaffney also ran his fastest time of 50.58 in the 400, second fastest for BC so far this season. Also improving in the 400 were junior Gregory Hassel (51.22) and senior Ryan Henry (51.53). Freshman Kristopher Haynes ran his top time of the season in the 800, clocking a 1:55.63, which ranks second for BC this season. Sophomore Ryan Diorio (1:57.23) and freshman Philip Woerner (1:58.14) also improved their times in the 800.
In the 1500, junior James LaGreca led all BC runners with a time of 3:51.80, fastest on the team so far this season. Senior Jeremy Zagorski ran his fastest 1500, clocking a 3:52.90. Fellow seniors Josh Springer (3:54.01) and Jeff Klatsky (3:59.16) also ran their fastest times in 2008. Junior Timothy Ritchie, running in his first 5000m race this season, marked the team's fastest time of 14:58.78. Junior Patrick Viklund (15:30.89) also marked his fastest time of the season.
The 4x400 meter relay team improved to a time of 3:19.90. BC placed 10th at the Championships. Rounding out the Eagles' top-season performances was freshman Matt Kosmas in the hammer throw. He now has BC's top-mark of 141'01.00".
