Boston, Mass. - The Boston College softball team (21-24, 2-10 ACC) found the offensive spark it was looking for, collecting seven runs on seven hits in the cross-town match-up with Boston University (23-14, 9-2 America East) Wednesday afternoon at the BU Softball field, shutting out the Terriers by a score of 7-0.

The Eagles got their first two runs across in the top of the third inning. Freshman Carolyn Jones walked to start off. Senior Amanda Booth, who went 3-for-4 at the plate overall, singled to advance Jones. Sophomore Amy Tunstall then singled to advance both runners again. Sophomore Taylor Peyton then reached on a fielder's choice, allowing Jones to score. Ramos then knocked in her first run of the game on a single, scoring Booth.
BC scored three more runs in the top of the fifth inning off the Ramos homerun. Booth, who doubled to start the inning and Tunstall who walked, both scored on the play.
The Eagles took the 5-0 advantage into the top of the seventh inning. With one out and Tunstall on first after walking, Peyton drove out a two-run homerun to left center field for the sixth and seventh BC scores. Peyton's homerun was her first of the year as she has tallied a total of 34 hits and 15 RBIs this season. Tunstall registered the Eagles' seventh hit of the game, going 1-for-2 at the plate with two walks. BC took the cross-town victory home by the final score of 7-0.
