Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College lacrosse team will make a special presentation before its game against Vermont tonight at Westwood High School. Head Coach Bowen Holden and captains Shauna Culhane and Jenna McCabe will present BC field hockey player Kathleen Murphy and Head Coach Ainslee Lamb with a check to be given to the MS Society in Murphy's name.
Murphy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in April 2007, at the age of 20. While she continues to excel in her sport, she is now working to raise awareness and help the search for a cure. Over the weekend, the entire field hockey took part in the MS Walk in Boston.
The lacrosse team helped in the fundraising efforts for their fellow classmates and will honor Murphy tonight by presenting her and Lamb with a donation before the start of the contest.
The Eagles are 2-2 all-time against the Catamounts, including winning the last two meetings. Juniors Lauren Fitzpatrick and Jenna McCabe are looking to extend their 12-game scoring streaks, as they have scored in every game this season. The Eagles are 4-8 on the year while the Catamounts are 7-6.
