Boston College junior goalkeeper Sarah Buonomo was a big reason the Eagles advanced to their fifth straight NCAA Tournament. Buonomo, in her second season as the No. 1 goalkeeper, helped the Eagles finish the season with a 14-5 record.
Buonomo, a native of Churchville, PA, earned national recognition this past season.
She posted a goals-against-average of 0.38, which was No. 1 in the country. Her .901 save percentage was also No. 1 across the country.
A second-team All-NEWISA honoree, Buonomo posted a 9-4-4 record and earned nine shutouts. She now has 16 career shutouts, enough for third on the all-time women's soccer list. Buonomo was also named to the ACC All-Academic team.
