Men's Swimming Drops Meet to Rhode Island, 164-136

KINGSTON, R.I. - John Maloy won three events for the Boston College men's swimming team, but it was not enough as the Eagles dropped a non-conference swim meet to Rhode Island, 164-136.
Maloy took top honors in the 200 medley, 500 free and 1,000 free. He finished the 200 medley in 2:17.89, 500 free in 4:44.34 and the 1,000 free in a time of 9:47.77.
Dominick Boccio contributed two wins for BC in the loss. He placed first in the 100 free (48.51) and 200 free (1:46.77).
Robert Swaninger added a win, finishing first in the 100 breast in 1:02.10.
BC now owns a 6-8 overall record, 0-1 in the ACC.
The next meet for the Eagles is on Feb. 5 against Holy Cross in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The meet is scheduled for 6 p.m.
