Mellea Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Senior cross country and track captain Patrick Mellea has been named to the 2007 NCAA Division I U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Men's All-Academic Team announced yesterday.
Mellea, who was also named to the All-ACC Academic Team earlier this month, receives his third academic award from the USTFCCCA. As a senior finance major at BC, he has earned the Athletic Director Award for Academic Achievement three consecutive years and has made the Dean's List Honor Roll five out seven semesters.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average and must finish in the top 15 percent at their respective NCAA regional meet.
A total of 56 male student-athletes representing 38 Division I institutions were named to the 2007 All-Academic Team. NC State led all Division I schools with four student-athletes honored.
