Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College women's soccer players Julia Bouchelle, goalkeeper Jillian Mastroianni and defender Alyssa Pember were all named to the All-Freshman team by TopDrawerSoccer.com as released today. Bouchelle and Mastroianni were named to the first team, while Pember was placed on the second team.
Julia Bouchelle, a native of Cockeysville, MD, was also named to both the second-team All-ACC and the All-Freshman team. Bouchelle, a midfielder, is the Eagles second leading scorer with seven goals and one assist for 15 points. This creative midfielder has notched four game-winning goals in her first season.
Jillian Mastroianni, a native of Durham, CT, also made both the All-ACC second-team and All-Freshman team. She has started 17 of 18 games for the Eagles this season. Mastroianni, who has seven shutouts this season, has a goals-against-average of 0.85, good enough for second in the ACC.
Alyssa Pember was named to the All-Freshman team. A native of Northport, New York, Pember battled injuries very early in the season only to bounce back and become a presence in the back line for the Eagles. Pember is part of a foursome on defense that has let up only eight goals in the high-scoring ACC conference. She is also a threat offensively and scored her first collegiate goal on October 2 vs. Miami.
The No. 10 Eagles will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament this weekend. BC will play Central Connecticut (4 p.m.), while Harvard and Northeastern will follow (7 p.m.).
