Women's Cross Country Takes Second At Murray Keatinge

ORONO, Maine - Junior Lauren Johnston helped the Boston College women's cross country team to a second place finish at the Murray Keatinge Invitational on October 4 with a second place performance in the 5k course. BC had six women finish in the top 25.
Johnston crossed the line in 18:07.05 to lead all Eagles in the race. Classmate Gretchen Andrus crossed the line in sixth place with a time of 18:13.21. Senior Medena Knespl took 14th place at 18:28.39.
Junior Jessica Rogers finished after Knespl with a time of 18:28.86 while classmate Kelly Gross (18:32.01) and graduate student Emily Mareb (18:42.40) placed 17th and 24th, respectively, to round out the top 25 finishers.
Freshman Casey Harrison came in 28th place (18:45.70), and sophomores Siobhan Breagy, Amanda Leahy, and Monica Chase finished 36th (19:01.60), 68th (20:04.88), 70th (20:15.32), respectively.
The women will compete in the New England Championship next Saturday at Franklin Park. Start time is slated for 12:45 p.m.
