
Men's and Women's Swimming Win at Lafayette

The Boston College men's and women's swimming and diving teams both won dual meets against Lafayette College yesterday at the Ruef Natatorium. The men's team beat the Leopards, 164-130, while the women's team won by a score of 181-119.
John Maloy led the Eagles with victories in three events, the 200 yard individual medley (1:59.17), the 500 yard freestyle (4:54.48), and the 1000 yard freestyle (10:08.72).
The Eagles also received wins from Andrew Brown (100 yard backstroke), Timothy Corrigan (200 yard butterfly), Dominick Boccio (100 yard freestyle), Brett Bromann (200 yard backstroke), and the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Boccio, Collin Thilo, Juan Perez and Alex Spaeth.
The women's team was led by Caroline Byron, who won the 100 yard freestyle (53.41) as well as the 200 yard freestyle (1:57.00).
Michelle Gannon also won two events for the Eagles, taking first place in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:11.38) as well as the 200 yard breaststroke (2:30.63).
Aydan Sarikaya (1000 yard freestyle), Anna Smith (200 yard butterfly), Ashley Driscoll (1 meter diving), Andrea King (500 yard freestyle), Bridget O'Brien (3 meter diving), and Megan Tincher (200 yard individual medley) all recorded victories for the Eagles.
The 200 yard medley relay team of Kayla Posocco, Shannon Landers, Caitlin Doherty, and Kelly Leahey also finished in first place with a time of 1:52.81.
Both the men's and women's teams will be back in action on Oct. 31 at the Flynn Recreation Complex when they take on Bryant in a duel meet at 5:00 pm.
