#7 Women's Ice Hockey Defeats Providence 3-1

Three 3rd period goals helped lift Boston College Women's Ice Hockey to a 3-1 win over Providence College Saturday afternoon.
The Friars struck first, netting a goal at 12:07 in the first period to give them the 1-0 lead.
PC would hold that lead through a scoreless second period and into the beginning of the third when senior forward Meghan Fardelmann recorded her first goal of the season to tie the score at one apiece. Freshman Mary Restuccia picked up her second assist of the season on the goal.
Forward Lauren Wiedmeier netted the game winner four minutes later at 7:10 in the third to push the score to 2-1 BC with help from Tracy Johnson and Becky Zavisza.
Johnson added an empty net insurance goal with 16 seconds left to give the Eagles the 3-1 win. Junior forwards Kelli Stack and Allie Thunstrom were credited with the assist.
Goaltender Molly Schaus allowed only one goal on 34 shots for her third win of the season.
Johnson and Schaus were named the first and second stars of the game.
The Eagles continue their weekend campaign at home on Sunday October 26 at 2 p.m. in a non-conference match-up with the Bobcats of Quinnipiac University.
