Women's Basketball Set For First Practice on Friday

Chestnut Hill, MA - New Head Coach Sylvia Crawley and the BC women's basketball team will run through the first practice of the 2008-09 season on Friday, October 17.
The Eagles, under the guidance of the new staff, are set to open up the season with 13 members of the team, including two newcomers in freshman guard Jasmine Gill and freshman forward Mia Nickson.
The team will be led by seniors Corey Rusin, Victoria Jones and Brittanny Johnson. Rusin and Johnson have been named the team captains for the season. Other returning players include juniors Ayla Brown and Mickel Picco along with six sophomores - Stefanie Murphy, Carolyn Swords, Jaclyn Thoman, LaShaunda Pratt, Lauren Whitehurst and Veronica Wilson.
Boston College will host the Mike White All-Stars in an exhibition on Monday, November 10 (7 p.m.) before opening the season on Friday, Nov. 14 against St. Francis (Conte Forum, 8:15 p.m.).
The 2008-09 schedule looks to bring some exciting action to Conte Forum. The Eagles will host Notre Dame in November, along with New Hampshire, and Florida International. In January, Boston College will enter its fourth season in ACC action. The Eagles will host Florida State, Maryland, NC State Virginia Tech, Miami, Clemson, and Coach Crawley's alma mater ... North Carolina.
