
Women's Fencing Captures Four Wins At Conference Competition

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Boston College women's fencing team earned four victories at the Northeast Conference Competition on Jan. 26. The Eagles went 4-2 with victories over MIT (14-13), Smith (24-3), Dartmouth (17-10) and Vassar (15-12). Boston College lost a tough match to Brown, 14-13 and a 16-11 match against Brandeis.
Freshman foil Jennifer Colacino went 8-4, as did freshman Christine Cook while freshman Erin Hynes went 8-5.
In epee, sophomore Heather Ciganek went 12-3 in the competition. Amanda Cortez was very successful in the sabre competition, going 13-5.
Boston College will travel to Brandeis for meets against Haverford, Air Force and NYU.
