CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Boston College women's soccer team will host Harvard University on Sunday, September 9 at noon. The Eagles have won the last two matches between the two teams.
BC Notes: Last season the two teams met on Sept. 9 in Cambridge and Harvard went up 1-0 early in the game. The Eagles came back with three unanswered goals by Gina DiMartino, Kia McNeill and Tara Luciani. Arianna Criscione earned the victory. ... The Eagles are 2-0 this season with victories over Central Connecticut and Brown. Alison Kulik now has 130 victories as the Eagles head coach. She has led the Eagles to four consecutive NCAA Tournament berths and three straight Sweet 16's ... Sophomore forward Gina DiMartino was named to the 2007 Hermann Trophy Watch List. Last year, senior defender Laura Georges was a semifinalist for the award ... In the win victories by Boston College four different players have recorded a goal. Sophomore Melissa Gimpel and DiMartino scored in the first game, while freshman Natalie Crutchfield and junior Caitlin Hiler notched the goals in the second victory over Brown.
Boston College is currently ranked 10th in the nation by the NSCAA and 12th by Soccer Buzz. The Eagles are 11th in a poll produced by Soccer America.
