Newton, Mass.--Boston College faces its first ACC opponent Saturday, Sept. 15 at 1:00 p.m., when No. 2 Maryland comes to town. The Eagles are hoping to break their four-game losing streak against the Terrapins.
BC is 0-4 all-time against Maryland, losing twice as ACC opponents. In 2006, the Eagles gave up five goals to the Terrapins in their second loss of the season.
On Sunday, Sept. 16, Boston College plays their second home game of the weekend, taking on No. 18 Albany at 2:00 p.m. The two teams have never faced each other.
Sunday's game also marks Alumni Day. The Eagles are proud to welcome back former field hockey players who will be in attendance. This includes Anne Marie Ambros, a 1999 graduate, who was recently induced into the Boston College Varsity Hall of Fame. Ambros earned BIG EAST Rookie of the Year honors in 1995 and was named to the All-Conference first team and Regional All-American first team in 1996-98. As a senior, was a second-team All-American and BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year. Ambros finished her career with 73 points (10 goals and 53 assists).
