Coach Lamb Welcomes 2011 Class to Campus

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Boston College head field hockey coach Ainslee Lamb is pleased to welcome the incoming freshmen to the Heights on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007.
The 2007 recruiting class consists of seven talented players from different parts of the globe.
"They were all talented high school athletes," Lamb said. "I know they will easily make the transition to the collegiate level and immediately add to our team's competitiveness in the ACC and NCAA."
Emily Kozniuk, a midfielder from North Vancouver, was Argyle Secondary School's leading scorer four years in a row. She was also a four-year member of the British Columbia Provincial Team and played for the 2003 U-18 national champions. Kozniuk earned Player of the Game accolades in 2006 during the U-19 USA/Canada Challenge Cup and received the Diana Popovich Award for most outstanding U-18 player in Vancouver's Women's League.
Kozniuk is joined by Jessica Roberts, an East Bridgewater High School graduate, who was named a 2006 NFHCA High School First Team All-American. In four years, she scored 101 goals and dished out 48 assists. She helped her team to the 2005 Patriot League Championship and the 2006 South Shore League Championship. Her honors include the 2005 Brockton Enterprise Player of the Year and being named a 2005 Boston Herald All-Scholastic Athlete and a 2006 Boston Globe All-Scholastic Athlete.
Janna Anctil, a four-year letterwinner at Brewster Academy from Wolfeboro, N.H., was her team's MVP four years in a row. Playing either midfield or forward, she racked up 75 career goals and was selected as a NEPSAC All-Star and Penn-Monto All-Star.
Marlotte van den Bergh hails from Amsterdam, Holland, but spent her high school days playing for Greenwich High School in Greenwich, Conn, where her team won the 2005 and 2006 state championship. Van den Bergh was named Finals MVP in 2005. Her skilled play also earned her Connecticut Coca-Cola Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006 and Hartford Courant Player of the Year in 2006.
Lauren Jackson, a midfielder from Newton, Mass., lettered in field hockey in her two years at Phillips Academy Andover. She was a member of the 2006 New England All-Regional Team and when attending East Chapel Hill High School, helped her team win North Carolina state championships in 2003 and 2004.
The Eagles also welcome Lexy Ratering-Arntz, from Nijmegan, Holland, and transfer student Michelle Tavener, from Winchester, Mass.
The Eagles kick off their season with a short road trip to California, where they will play Stanford on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 1:00 p.m. and Pacific on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Stanford. They return to Newton for their home opener against Quinnipiac on Friday, Aug. 31 at 2:00 p.m.
