CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Boston College women's basketball team will begin its third season in the Atlantic Coast Conference as the 2007-08 season schedule was released by the college and conference office.
The Eagles will kick off the season against Wright State on Friday, November 9 in Conte Forum. The team will hit the road for three consecutive away games against Massachusetts, Delaware and former Big East rival, Notre Dame. On the return, the Eagles will host New Hampshire on Tuesday, Nov. 27.
Boston College will also play in the Northwestern Tournament on November 30 and December 1. The Eagles will open up the tournament against Wagner, with the winner advancing to the championship against the Northwestern/Central Michigan victor.
The remainder of the non-conference schedule includes games against Holy Cross, Rhode Island, Fairfield, La Salle, Maine, Colgate, Northeastern and Yale.
The Eagles will open their ACC schedule with a January 3 game at Virginia Tech. The game is a rematch of last season's first-round game in the ACC Tournament, when BC lost in overtime.
Miami, Maryland and NC State are the teams chosen to be the Eagles' home-and-home series in the ACC. The Wolfpack will come to town for BC's home opener on Sunday, Jan. 6 and Maryland will follow on Thursday, Jan. 10. Including those three teams, the Eagles will also host Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Duke and Virginia. Boston College, along with the ACC opener in Blacksburg, will hit the road for North Carolina, NC State, Miami, Clemson and Florida State.
The ACC Championship will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex March 6-9, 2007.
