CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Boston College field hockey team released the schedule for the 2007 regular season. The Eagles will compete against seven teams that participated in the 2006 NCAA Tournament.
Boston College will also host the 2007 ACC Championships games at the Newton Campus Field. The quarterfinals will be played on Thursday, Nov. 1, followed by the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 2. The ACC final will take place on Sunday, Nov. 4.
Boston College will prep for the regular season with an exhibition contest versus Colgate on Sunday, August 19 at the Newton Campus field. The Eagles will begin the 2007 season on the road at a tournament at Stanford. BC will open up against the host Cardinal on Saturday, August 25. On Sunday, Aug. 26, the Eagles will battle the University of the Pacific.
A two-game home stand against Quinnipiac and Holy Cross will follow the trip to California. The Eagles will then travel cross-town to play Boston University on Sept. 7 (7 p.m.). Sacred Heart comes to town on Sunday, Sept. 9, followed by the reigning National Champion Maryland on Saturday, Sept. 15 (1 p.m.). The Eagles will then host Albany on Sunday, Sept. 16. The University of Virginia, which played in the 2006 NCAA Tournament, will host the Eagles on Saturday, Sept. 22.
Boston College will then welcome 2006 Final Four competitor Duke on Friday, Sept. 28 (7 p.m.). For any field hockey fan, Sunday, Sept. 30 will be a great take on the Newton Campus as Duke will play Boston University at noon, followed by Boston College and Maine at 3 p.m.
The Eagles head out for three games against North Carolina - another 2006 NCAA tournament team, Northeastern and Dartmouth. The final home game of the 2007 season for the Eagles is on Wed., Oct. 17 against Harvard. BC will close out the season on the road against UNH (Oct. 21), Connecticut (Oct. 24) and the 2006 NCAA runner up, Wake Forest (Oct. 28).
