CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team and head coach Jillian Ellis will head to Manchester, England, from May 4-13 for three matches against top English women's clubs. Ellis named 17 players to the roster, including two Boston College freshmen - Gina DiMartino and Kelly Henderson.
The team will face Everton Ladies on May 8, the Leeds Ladies on May 10 and the Blackburn Ladies on May 12. Ellis, who is a native of England, is developing pool of players to qualify the USA for the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Chile will host the tournament next year.
Ellis, who will take 18 players to England, still has one spot to fill on the roster.
DiMartino, a native of Massapequa, NY, led the Eagles in scoring with 13 goals and five assists for 31 points. She was the ACC Rookie of the Year and a third-team NSCAA All-Region selection. This will be her second trip with the U-20 team, as she traveled to Mexico with the team in February.
Henderson, a native of Baldwin, NY, played both defense and midfield for the Eagles. She had four goals, seven assists for 15 points last season. This will be Henderson's third stint with the U-20's, as she went to Mexico and Texas in March.
