Women's Soccer Has Successful Spring Season

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Boston College women's soccer team finished the spring season with a victory and a tie at the Beanpot Tournament on April 15. The round-robin tournament involved BC, Harvard, BU and Northeastern at Boston University.
The Eagles tied Harvard, 0-0, in the first match and followed up with a 2-1 win over BU. Sophomore Caitlin Hiler and junior Kia McNeill scored in the victory. The third game vs. Northeastern was cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
Boston College finished the spring with victories over BYU, UConn and Boston University. The Eagles also had two 0-0 ties vs. UCLA and Harvard.
Alumnae News
On Sunday, April 22nd the Eagles participated in a 7 vs. 7 alum tournament. The Eagles had about 20 alumnae participating in the round-robin tournament.
Season Finale
The annual soccer banquet took place on Sunday. The night highlighted the many achievements the 2006 Boston College women's team earned, including the Eagles fourth straight NCAA berth and third straight "Sweet 16" appearance.
The banquet gave the team a chance to salute one of the most successful senior classes in the history of the program. The group of Arianna Criscione, Molly Dane, Heather Ferron, Laura Georges, Jenny Maurer and Mary Schneck were the first class to advance to the NCAA tournament four straight seasons and play in three straight "Sweet 16's". The group also compiled an impressive record of 55-23-9. The NSCAA ranked the Eagles 11th in the final poll of the 2006 season.
