Women's Lacrosse Announces Eight Recruits For `08

Chestnut Hill, Mass.--Boston College women's lacrosse will welcome eight recruits for the 2008 season. The class of 2011 hails from four different states and includes four All-Americans, five All-Galaxy selections, seven high school team captains, five members of state championship teams and one player named to the Tewaaraton Watch List.
"I am looking forward to welcoming this exceptional group of student-athletes to campus next fall. With a total of nine state championships among them through their junior years and a true desire to help guide BC to the top, I expect great things from these eight individuals on and off the field, and I am thrilled they have chosen to become Eagles," head coach Bowen Holden says.
Hannah Alley (M), Lake Forest, Illinois; Lake Forest High School / Wildcat Elite - Four-year starter for Lake Forest; leading scorer as a junior with 74 goals and 58 assists; two-time All-American; two-time member of Great Lakes National Team 1; 2004 State Champion; Captain 2007; three-time field hockey state champion. Alley also considered Northwestern, Notre Dame, Brown and UNC.
Jillian Amo (D), Ridgewood, New Jersey; Ridgewood High School / Metro - Played attack, midfield, and defense for Ridgewood High School and Metro Club Team; 2006 Ridgewood MVP; team leader in goals (53), points (80), and draw controls (46); two-time North Jersey Champions; Captain 2007. Yale, Columbia, Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt were also on Amo's list of prospective schools.
Elizabeth Bertoni (M), Ridgewood, New Jersey; Ridgewood High School / Metro - Two-time North Jersey Champions; second-team All-Galaxy; Ridgewood soccer standout. She also considered playing for Northwestern, Notre Dame and Boston University.
Kaitlyn Horsman (A), Hunt Valley, Maryland; Dulaney High School / Skywalkers - State champion 2005 and 2006; Towson Times All-Star; All-Baltimore County first-team; academic All-American; Captain 2007; varsity field hockey 2004-2006. Kaitlyn chose Boston College over UNC, Princeton and Johns Hopkins.
Kristen Horsman (M), Hunt Valley, Maryland; Dulaney High School / Skywalkers - Named a "Player to Watch" by the Baltimore Sun, 2006 and 2007; two-time first-team All-American; academic All-American; listed on 2006 Tewaaraton Watch List; two-time state champion; Captain 2006, 2007; varsity field hockey 2003-2005. Kristen also considered attending Princeton, Vanderbilt and Johns Hopkins.
Kristin Igoe (M), Framingham, Massachusetts; Framingham High School / Mass Elite - Helped lead Framingham to a 25-0 record and 2006 state championship; 2006 All-American; member of 2005 Lower New England Team 2 and 2006 Team 1; 2006 Boston Globe & Boston Herald All-Scholastic; 2007 Captain; varsity soccer & basketball. Igoe also listed UNC, Northwestern and Brown as her top schools.
Jillian Rekart (M), Ellicott City, Maryland; Mount Hebron High School / M&D - First-team All-Galaxy selection; first-team honoree for Howard County, the Baltimore Sun, the Washington Post and the Howard County Times; three-time state champion; member of first-ranked high school team in nation; 2007 Captain; varsity basketball. She also considered playing for Loyola and Notre Dame.
Sheila Serafino (GK), South Hamilton, Massachusetts; Hamilton/Wenham Regional High School - Four-year varsity goalie at HWRHS; 2004, 2005, 2006 league all-star; 2006 Lower New England National Tournament Team; 2007 Captain; varsity soccer & swimming. Boston University, Penn, Harvard and Tufts were also on Serafino's list of potential schools.
