CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Men's tennis concluded a doubleheader and its regular season match with a win on Sunday evening as they defeated Brandeis University 6-1 at the Flynn Recreation Complex. The Eagles finish the regular season with an overall record of 6-19 while Brandeis falls to 9-7 with the loss.
Despite sweeping the doubles point, the Eagles had their hands full as the Judges would push BC's first two tandems of Jason Sechrist and Thomas Nolan and Soma Kesthely and Brian Garber to scores of 9-7 and 8-6 respectively. The Eagles' number three duo of Geoff Mueller and Sam Wagner had no trouble with Cliff Silverman and Scott Schulman as they would down them 8-1.
BC would control singles action as they would not drop a set to the Judges en route to the 6-1 victory. Brandeis would capture a point at No. 5 singles as the Eagles' Brian Garber would have to retire after winning the first set 6-3.
The Eagles next play at the ACC Championships in Cary, N.C. They are seeded No. 12 and will take on Clemson University on Thursday, April 19 at 9:00 a.m.
