WEYMOUTH, Mass. - After being swept by 20th-ranked Clemson on Friday night, the Eagles looked to get back on the winning track but dropped a tough 4-3 decision to Georgia Tech University on Sunday morning at the Weymouth Club. With the win, the Yellow Jackets snapped a nine match losing streak and improved their overall record to 7-14 overall and 4-7 in ACC play. BC dropped to 5-15 overall and 0-11 in conference.
The Eagles came out strong during doubles play as Soma Kesthely and Brian Garber knocked off Austin Roebuck and George Gvelesiani 8-4 in the third position. BC then took the early 1-0 lead after Alex Rastorgouev and Sam Wagener won 8-5 over Eric Molnar and Rassow-Kantor at No. 1.
In singles play, the Georgia Tech would take three matches in a row from the Eagles beginning with Eric Molnar, who evened the score by beating Sam Wagner 6-2, 6-0 from the No. 2 spot. Zach Rath finished second with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Jason Sechrist at the fourth position. The third win belonged to Roebuck, who defeated Garber 6-4, 6-1 at the six spot.
After a three-set win in the third spot by Thomas Nolan over Scott Blackmon brought the Eagles within one point, Luke Rassow-Kantor was able to hold off Alex Rastorgouev to earn the win for the Jackets.
