Chapel Hill, N.C.--Boston College women's lacrosse fell to ACC foe North Carolina, 14-4, Sunday afternoon in Chapel Hill, N.C. The loss drops the Eagles to 4-6 on the season and 1-2 in league games. Senior Elizabeth Kadison netted two goals and sophomore Katie Monaghan made 11 saves in goal for Boston College
The Eagles could not jumpstart their offense in the first half as they notched just one goal to the Tar Heels' seven in the first 30 minutes of play. UNC outshot Boston College, 21-8, and converted on two of its six free position shots. Boston College turned the ball over 10 times in the frame, and 19 times overall for the game.
Kadison scored the lone goal of the first half for the Eagles, netting one a 22:32 to tie the score at 1-1. That would be as close as Boston College would get. The Tar Heels followed up Kadison's tally with a 10-goal run spanning into the second half.
Sophomore Margot Spatola registered the second Boston College goal, unassisted at 14:06 of the second half to make the score 11-2. Sophomore Jenna McCabe and Kadison scored the last two goals of the game at 2:30 and 1:48, respectively, to round out the Eagle scoring.
Kristen Taylor led UNC with four goals on the afternoon, but nine of Taylor's teammates also recorded at least a point. The Tar Heels used three goalies who combined for six saves. Kristen Hordy started the game and earned the decision.
The Eagles will play a rescheduled game against Connecticut in Storrs on Thursday, April 5 at noon. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, April 11.
