Women's Skiing Places Second in Giant Slalom at Nationals

WINTER PARK, CO - The Boston College women's ski team began its run at USCSA Nationals this week by placing second in the giant slalom on Wednesday. The Eagles placed two skiers in the top 10.
Sophomore Ashley La Cavalla placed fourth with a total time of 2 minutes 12.19 seconds, sophomore Courtney Willson finished sixth in 2:12.58, freshman Perrie Finsand took 18th with a time of 2:14.64, senior Courtney Culnane placed 19th in 2:14.75, and senior Kara Hoisington finished 36th with a total time of 2:21.68.
The Eagles tallied a total team time of 399.41 seconds, finishing 4.31 seconds behind first-place finisher Sierra Nevada College. Colby-Sawyer College placed third in 399.45 seconds. Plymouth State University and Rocky Mountain College rounded out the top five, respectively.
"It was a great day for the team and I'm very excited about the result," head coach Peter Endres said. "It was great to finish second behind Sierra Nevada College, which is traditionally a strong team. The women all had very solid runs against good competition. It's a good way to start and now we're hoping for great results in the slalom."
The women's ski team returns to the slopes on Friday, March 9 for the slalom race at USCSA Nationals in Winter Park, CO.
