
Men's Tennis Falls To No. 20 NC State

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Men's tennis fell to 20th-ranked NC State, 6-1, on Friday, March 30, at the Flynn Recreation Complex . The Wolfpack collected the doubles point and five singles wins to earn the team's second ACC victory of the season. With the win, the Pack improves to 17-5 overall and 2-3 ACC play on the season, while the Eagles fall to 4-13, 0-6 in ACC action.
NC State took an early 1-0 lead after winning two of the three doubles flights. The No. 11 doubles tandem of junior Nick Cavaday and senior William Noblitt took down Alex Rastorgouev and Sam Wagner, 8-1, at No. 1, and Wolfpack senior Andre Iriarte and sophomore Jay Weinacker beat the Eagles' Brian Garber and Soma Kesthely, 8-4, at No. 2. Geoff Mueller and Thomas Nolan outlasted Frideric Prandecki and David Rozek, 8-6, at No. 3.
NC State was able to collect five of the six singles matches to earn the victory. Senior Soma Kesthely earned the only singles win for the Eagles, defeating No. 38 Nick Cavaday, 6-1, 6-4, at the No. 1 position. William Noblitt overmatched Thomas Nolan, 6-3, 6-2, and the Wolfpack would not drop another set en route to the win. Weinacker outlasted Rastorgouev, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3, and Iriarte shut out Wagner, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4. Rozek took down Garber, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 5, and Prandecki overpowered Dennis Reardon, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 6.
The Eagles travel to Providence, R.I. tomorrow morning where they will take on No. 7 Wake Forest University. The match will begin at 10:00 a.m.
