Boston College Names Robbie Mustoe Assistant Men's Soccer Coach

Robbie Mustoe, a longtime English soccer star who spent the 2006 season as an assistant coach at Bentley College, has been named assistant men's soccer coach at Boston College, according to an announcement made by BC head coach Ed Kelly.
Prior to joining the Bentley soccer staff, Mustoe enjoyed a stellar 18-year professional playing career in England. He spent 12 seasons (1990-2001) with Middlesbrough in the English Premier League. Mustoe played in the midfield through the 1990s and played in all three of the club's Wembley finals.
Mustoe was Middlesbrough's longest serving player before leaving the club in 2002. He had played in 351 games, including a record number of Premiership starts. Mustoe served as the club's vice captain from 1995-2000. Mustoe shared the club's Player of the Year award with Hamilton Ricard in 1999.
In 2002, he transferred to Charlton Athletic, where he played one season. He finished his playing career with one season (2003) at Sheffield Wednesday.
Mustoe earned a UEFA "B" soccer coaching license in 2000.
