The Eagles Softball team wrapped up its Hawaiian spring break tour on Saturday, falling 9-3 to the University of Pacific.
BC got off to a good start, manufacturing a run in the first inning. Unfortunately, Pacific got to Eagles starter Amanda Kimczak for three runs in the bottom of the stanza.
BC answered back in the second inning, scoring on a sacrifice fly by Amy Tunstall. Once again, Pacific counterpunched with a three-spot, this time getting to Senior pitcher Britney Thompson. Pacific scored two more in the third inning, and the rout was on.
Freshman Taylor Peyton whacked a solo homerun in the fourth, and pitched solid (3.1 IP, ER) in relief of Klimczak and Thompson, but Pacific proved too much for the Eagles.
BC returns from Hawaii this week. The 1-8 Eagles travel again this weekend to the Dukes Invitational in Harrisburg, VA.
