Women's Skiing Places Second Overall at USCSA Nationals

WINTER PARK, CO - The Boston College women's ski team concluded its week at USCSA Nationals on Friday by placing second in the slalom, earning the team a second-place finish overall for the event. The Eagles placed all five skiers in the top 25 of the slalom event.
Sophomore Courtney Willson led the way for the Eagles in the slalom by finishing fourth with a total time of 1 minute 38.65 seconds. Freshman Perrie Finsand placed 10th in 1:40.18, senior Kara Hoisington took 12th with a time of 1:40.69, sophomore Ashley La Cavalla finished 15th in 1:42.10, and senior Courtney Culnane placed 22nd with a time of 1:44.06.
The Eagles placed second overall in the slalom with a total team time of 299.52 seconds. Sierra Nevada College placed first in 299.01 seconds and Rocky Mountain College finished third in 302.41 seconds. Colby-Sawyer College and Brown University rounded out the top five, respectively.
In the team combined results, Sierra Nevada College placed first, Boston College took second, Colby-Sawyer College third, Rocky Mountain College fourth, and Plymouth State University fifth.
The Eagles placed three skiers in the top 15 of the individual combined standings. Courtney Willson led the team in fourth, Ashley La Cavalla took ninth, and Perrie Finsand placed 12th.
"The team skied very well and I'm really excited about the result," head coach Peter Endres said. "Sierra Nevada College is a traditionally strong team, so to be able to vie for a win was a great accomplishment for us. I'm very proud of our skiers. The great results and accomplishments this season are evidence of their hard work and commitment to the team."
The women's ski team finished its season on Friday at Nationals after having earned the regular-season MacConnell Division title and a tie for the ECSC Regional title.
