A close 13-14 loss to Duke started off a grueling day of six dual meets at MIT on Feb 4th for the men's fencing team. Three of the six schools BC faced at MIT are ranked in the top-ten: #1 Penn State, # 7 Penn, and #10 Princeton, and so their 1-5 record for the day came as no surprise. Solid individual efforts by members of the epee and sabre squads brightened the effort, including Ian Griswold's 3-0 run against the Duke sabre squad.
Senior epeeist Carrie O'Connor swept the Penn women's epee squad at MIT on Saturday as the women dropped five of their six meets, including losses to #1 Penn State and #8 Penn.
Thursday the teams face Harvard, the reigning NCAA Champions.
