Indoor Track Registers Strong Performances at Harvard Invite

Boston, Mass. - The men and women's indoor track teams competed in their last competition of the year on Saturday, marking strong performances all around at the Harvard Open Track Meet.
Four women highlighted the day by qualifying for the ECAC indoor championship, held later this season. Freshman Siobhan Breagy and senior Alison Fogarty ran qualifying times in the 500 meter dash, finishing in 1:15.54 and 1:15.91 respectively. Senior Kasey Hill clocked a qualifying time of 8.71 in the 60 meter hurdles, fast enough for a first place finish in the race. Senior Tiana Riel placed first in the long jump, jumping 5.74 meters, making her the fourth Eagle to qualify on the day.
The men put in a solid day as well, recording multiple top-five finishes. Sophomore Ryan Diorio placed a team-best second place in the 800 meter run in 1:55.68 and was followed by freshman Andrew MacIsaac, taking third in 1:56.29. Senior Joshua Springer placed fourth in the one mile run, clocking in at 4:21.81. Sophomore Brendan Gaffney and freshman Kristopher Haynes took fourth and fifth in the 500 meter dash, crossing the line in 1:06.61 and 1:06.90 respectively.
The indoor track season will continue competition after the new year when they race in the Boston University Invitational on Jan. 16.
