Knowlton and Cerrone Named to All-ACC Freshman Team

Freshmen Brooke Knowlton and Hannah Cerrone were named to the 2007 All-ACC Freshman Team, announced Tuesday. Both Boston College and Virginia Tech received two nods to lead all conference teams.
Forward Brooke Knowlton, from Rexford, N.Y., leads the team in points and goals for the season. She has tallied 10 points off five goals for the 11-4-3 Eagles. She notched a team high three game-winning goals in the regular season, including her first collegiate goal in the 2-1 win against Harvard on Sept. 2. She also scored the tying goal in the 1-1 match against Duke on Oct. 5. Knowlton scored two goals against NC State in the 4-0 shutout.
Hannah Cerrone, a versatile midfielder and defender from Wappingers Falls, N.Y., registered seven points on two goals and three assists. She nailed the gamewinner in the 2-0 victory over Maryland on Nov. 1 and notched the game-winning assist in the 1-0 win against Boston University on Sept. 12. She scored her first collegiate goal in the win over NC State.
The Eagles will battle Florida State tonight, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the first round of the ACC Women's Soccer Championship in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
