
Thunstrom Earns Player of the Week Honors

Wakefield, Mass. - Women's Hockey East named sophomore Allie Thunstrom TPS Hockey Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 8.
Thunstrom notched the gamewinner on her own rebound in overtime in the Eagles' season-opener against Rensselaer on Sunday, Oct. 7 in Troy, N.Y. The forward netted the goal 2:29 into the overtime period to give BC its first win of the season.
With the Engineers up 1-0 in the third period, Thunstrom also assist junior Meghan Fardelmann, along with junior Maggie Taverna, on the game-tying goal.
Thunstrom led the team in goals, with 30, last season and captured Hockey East Player of the Week honors in November. She also was unanimously selected as a Hockey East All-Star and an All-Rookie Selection. Over the summer, she was selected to participate in the 2007 Women's National Festival in Lake Placid, N.Y.
The Eagles take on the Colgate Raiders in their home opener on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
