Brooke Knowlton Earns ACC Co-Player of the Week Recognition

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Boston College freshman forward Brooke Knowlton shared Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honors with North Carolina's Casey Nogueira, according to a league announcement made on Monday.
Knowlton scored the game-tying goal in a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Duke on Friday night. On Sunday, Knowlton had more heroics as she notched her second career game-winning goal in BC's 2-1 victory over No. 25 Wake Forest. Knowlton scored with 10 minutes to play in the match to help the Eagles earn their first ACC victory of the season (1-0-2) and remain unbeaten at 8-0-3.
The Rexford, NY, native now has three goals for six points this season. Her first goal came against Harvard on Sept, 9. She scored in the 75th minute to give the Eagles a 2-1 victory.
BC will hit the road for its next two matches. The Eagles will travel to Coral Gables, Fla., to play Miami on Thursday night (7 p.m.). Boston College will then travel to Tallahassee, Fla., in a match against No. 17 Florida State on Sunday, Oct. 14 (1 p.m.).
The Eagles are now ranked 9th in the country by the NSCAA (Oct. 3) and moved up a spot to No. 10 in the Soccer America poll released this morning. Soccer Buzz has Boston College in the sixth spot of the poll released Oct. 3rd.
